Once Upon a Time…. Nope not that kind of story. Fly Eat and Repeat came about when its founders, husband – wife power team Aamir Ghaffar and Sophia Bawany, decided they wanted to share their love for good food and travel with the world. To showcase places and cultures in a fun and meaningful way. Both Aamir and Sophie have aspirations to see the world with Sophie being the history and culture buff and Aamir being the thrill and adventure seeker..well.. not to sound cliche but its kind of a match made in travel blog heaven. Both are Americans with a deep deep love for good food; not just exotic but even simple, local ,well – made cuisine. It shouldn’t surprise you if you find these two driving over an hour to have a great meal.
Aamir Ghaffar – Plane Connoisseur and Lover of Food
Aamir has grown up around planes and airports. His father has always had a deep love of aviation and the planes themselves not just the destination. Safe to say Aamir’s love for planes and travel is genetic. Hey some guys like cars, he likes planes…If that doesn’t scream BOSS we don’t know what does. One of Aamir’s favorite past times is going to the In n Out by LAX, grabbing a -Neapolitan shake and some Animal – Style Fries and watching the planes land. See? Eating and Traveling..When he’s not dreaming about or engaging in actual travel, Aamir also enjoys watching Cricket and Swimming. He has an MBA with a major in Marketing and is currently an International Vendor & Global Sourcing Manager with Harbor Freight Tools.
Sophia “Sophie” Bawany – The Dreamer who loves Designer
Sophie is the second half of Fly Eat and Repeat, she has always had a love for history and how the old civilizations worked. Add to that an obsession with the alphabet … A for Armani B for Balenciaga C for Chanel and you have to artist hybrid that is Sophie Bawany. Sophie is known to spend hours in the library on her off days reading books and daydreaming about the haute couture ateliers of the past. She LOVES Disney and is one of the proud original Potterheads. Sophie has been caught tearing up when she’s in a museum, when asked she admitted that museums remind her of how small we all are in the big scheme of things and history is a great way to put things in perspective. Sophie has her Bachelors in Business with a Major in Marketing and works with various financial institutions on their digital marketing and brand development.
